Paralegal

An established Charleston law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned paralegal who enjoys substantive case involvement, direct client interaction, and working closely with attorneys on complex family law matters. South Carolina family law experience is required. Candidates must have hands-on experience supporting attorneys with South Carolina divorce, custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, and related Family Court matters. Responsibilities include: Managing family law cases from intake through resolution Drafting pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents Preparing and organizing financial declarations and supporting documentation Assisting with discovery requests and responses Maintaining case calendars, deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation Communicating professionally and compassionately with clients during sensitive matters Coordinating with courts, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties Organizing exhibits and assisting attorneys with hearing and trial preparation Qualifications: Prior South Carolina family law paralegal experience is required Strong knowledge of South Carolina Family Court procedures and filings Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to independently manage a busy caseload and competing deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with clients navigating difficult personal circumstances The firm offers a competitive compensation and benefits package along with a professional, supportive & collaborative work environment.
