Business Director

Job Description

ProspectBlue is seeking a Business Director to serve as a key member of our leadership team and help steward the financial health of a mission-driven organization dedicated to making a meaningful community impact.

This is a high-impact role blending hands-on accounting leadership with strategic financial partnership-ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while also advising senior leadership and the Board.

What You'll Do:
Lead day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, cash flow, and banking relationships
Oversee monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Partner closely with the executive, leadership team, and Board of Directors to support strategic decision-making
Manage and mentor a small accounting team
Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
Coordinate with external auditors, including support for annual audit and 990 filings
Serve as a trusted advisor to finance-related committees (Treasurer, Budget, Audit)

What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
Experience working with boards or executive leadership teams
Ability to balance detail-oriented execution with big-picture thinking
Passion for mission-driven / nonprofit work is a plus
