CNC Machine Operator

Job Summary

ISC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating CNC milling and planing equipment, monitoring machine performance, inspecting finished products, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, can read work instructions and blueprints, and is committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, position, and secure workpieces using holding devices, hand tools, measuring instruments, and hoists.
• Operate CNC milling and machining equipment while monitoring machine performance and product quality.
• Inspect finished parts and verify compliance with specifications using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Verify workpiece alignment and machine setup prior to production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, machining instructions, job orders, and technical drawings.
• Select and adjust cutting speeds, feed rates, tooling, and machining parameters.
• Install, replace, and maintain cutting tools as necessary.
• Perform quality checks throughout the production process to ensure dimensional accuracy and product conformity.
• Troubleshoot minor machining issues and make machine adjustments to maintain tolerances.
• Assist in continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
• Write and modify G-Code and conversational programming as required.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly select, wear, and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report safety concerns, hazards, incidents, or equipment issues to supervision.
• Attend required safety meetings, training sessions, and company meetings.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a production environment.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing production needs.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous CNC machining or manufacturing experience.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment, including calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of G-Code and conversational programming.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
• Ability to work in varying temperature conditions within a manufacturing environment.
