Medical Laboratory Technician

As a Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, you will perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets.

About the Role

You will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world, working in a fast‑paced laboratory environment that encourages teamwork, quality and growth.

Responsibilities

• Use automated analyzers, microscopes and other diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries and diseases.
• Perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or biopsy samples received in the lab daily.
• Set up and run laboratory tests, then read and release results according to SOPs.
• Specialize in an assigned department to deepen expertise.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; a science‑related degree is preferred.
• Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT/MT) experience is a plus.
• Experience setting up, running, and reading laboratory tests and operating equipment such as microscopes and clinical analyzers.
• Positive attitude, teamwork, attention to detail, and reliability.
• Physical ability to stand and sit for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, use a computer, and meet vision requirements.
• Awareness of potential exposure to biohazards, zoonotic agents and hazardous chemicals.

Schedule

• Two shifts: Tuesday – Saturday 1:00am to 9:30am or Tuesday – Saturday 4:00am to 12:30pm.
• Hours may vary slightly, and reliable attendance is essential.
