Registered Nurse Emergency

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. This role involves patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care. The nurse is expected to maintain patient safety and comfort while managing a patient ratio of 1:4. Strong communication skills, relevant certifications, and at least one year of experience are required. The position requires flexibility to work weekends and major holidays as scheduled. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions in the ER setting.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and protocols.
• Plan and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and patient safety standards.
• Provide patient and family education regarding care plans and discharge instructions.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time nurses considered.
• Current certifications in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency department environment.

• Experience working in a community hospital emergency department.
• Familiarity with emergency nursing protocols and procedures.

• Weekend coverage every other weekend, with potential to exceed based on unit needs.
• Willingness to work three out of five major holidays as scheduled.
• No on-call or float requirements.
• Facility radius limit of 50 miles for commuting.
• Free parking available for staff.

• Shift assignments include block scheduling at manager's discretion.
• Guaranteed hours with the possibility of one call-off per two-week pay period.
• Position is seasonal with an elevated pay increase effective through March 1, 2027.
