The Patient Access Representative / Scheduler is the first point of contact for patients, providing a consistent, superior customer service experience in accordance with the Center's mission and vision. In this role, you will be responsible for patient check‑in and check‑out, payment collection, and patient medical record management. Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact, greeting and checking in patients and scheduling appointments. Confirm patient identity, insurance eligibility, and obtain required signatures. Answer patient calls promptly and professionally, escalating as needed. Maintain patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality in compliance with policies and infection control regulations. Assist physicians during examinations, including adult and pediatric immunizations, vital sign collection, medication record, and minor clinical procedures. Prepare patient charts, advance lab work, x‑rays, and special equipment needs. Schedule diagnostic tests and coordinate care as a care coordinator when assigned. Use electronic medical record systems to update delegated worklists and patient information. Maintain a safe, organized, and disinfected work environment and oversee supplies inventory. Perform other office and clerical duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate Program. 0–1 year of experience in an office or ambulatory clinic setting as a Front Office Medical Assistant. Knowledgeable in medical terminology, electronic health records, and basic computer programs (Word, Excel). Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is required. Comfortable working with computers and medical terminology. Preferred Qualifications 3 years of experience in an office or ambulatory clinic setting as a Front Office Medical Assistant. Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider – American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) – required within 30 days of hire; renewal before expiration.
