Job DescriptionHildebrand Law Firm is hiring a Paralegal to support one attorney whose practice covers both estate planning and litigation. This is an entry-level role and we will train you. If you are organized, careful, and good with people, we want to hear from you even if you have never worked in a law firm.\n\nAbout the firm\nWe are a Wisconsin law firm with a twenty-five year history of representing families and business owners across Southeast Wisconsin. Our work spans estate planning, elder law, trust and estate litigation, guardianship, and business and real estate disputes. We are a team of about fifteen people, so the work you do is visible and the people you support know your name.\n\nWhat you will do\nClient intake:\n\n Answer intake calls from prospective clients and gather the information the attorney needs to evaluate the matter\n Enter new leads accurately and follow up so nothing goes cold\n Schedule consultations and send confirmations and reminders\n Be the first friendly voice a client hears, often at a difficult moment in their life\n\nDrafting and document work:\n\n Prepare first drafts of estate planning documents from firm templates, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives\n Assemble litigation documents such as pleadings, discovery responses, and exhibit sets\n Proofread and format documents to firm standards before attorney review\n Prepare signing packets and assist at document execution appointments\n\nCalendar and deadlines:\n\n Own the attorney's calendar, including client appointments, court appearances, and internal meetings\n Track filing deadlines, hearing dates, and follow-up dates, and raise them well before they arrive\n Coordinate scheduling with courts, opposing counsel, financial advisors, and family members\n\nFile and matter management:\n\n Open, organize, and maintain client files in our document management system\n Keep matter status current so the attorney always knows where each file stands\n Order and track medical, financial, and real estate records\n Handle e-filing and court filing logistics once trained\n\n\nWhat we are looking for\n\n High school diploma required. An associate or bachelor's degree, or a paralegal certificate, is a plus but not required\n Strong writing skills. You will draft documents that go out under an attorney's name\n Genuine comfort on the phone, including with older clients and with families under stress\n Real organizational discipline. Deadlines in this work are not flexible\n Solid Microsoft Word skills and the ability to learn new software quickly\n Discretion. You will handle deeply personal financial and family information every day\n Willingness to ask questions rather than guess\n\n\nNice to have\n\n Prior experience in a law firm, title company, bank, financial advisory office, or healthcare setting\n Familiarity with estate planning or probate terminology\n Notary commission, or willingness to become a notary. We cover the cost\n\n\nCompensation and benefits\n\n $50,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on experience\n Health Insurance\n 401(k) with company match, eligible after ninety days\n Paid training and support toward a paralegal certificate if you want to pursue one\n A firm small enough that good work gets noticed and your responsibilities can grow quickly\n\n
