The RN is responsible for advocating in the care of individuals and families, ensuring compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant nursing policies. Job Responsibilities: Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as the primary nurse and/or accountable nurse based on unit assignment and safety considerations. Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilize knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications according to hospital policy. Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supplies. Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies. Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives. Engage in professional development, continuing education, and complete all mandatory training requirements. Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned. Education: Required Education: Associate's degree from an accredited school of Nursing. Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Certifications & Licensure: Required Certifications: Current Registered Nurse License in New York State, BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross). Preferred Certifications: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty. Schedule Notes: 12-night shifts, 7 p.m. - 7 a.m., 36 hours per week, with every other weekend requirement. Three years of current experience working in an Emergency Department is required, including previous travel experience with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.
