The successful candidate will be responsible for the documentation and record-keeping of health information of patients. Would need to follow record release policies and procedures and HIPAA rules and regulations. Respond and complete record requests in a timely manner, along with enter data in an accurate and efficient manner./ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities:/pulliScans documents and enters into patient charts in an accurate and efficient manner./liliEnters demographic and emergency contact information for patients into EMR./liliMaintains upcoming appointments; scans active charts in prior to appointment; logs in appropriate scanned chart log and into patient demographics window./liliConducts quality checks on scanned charts; destroys and logs appropriately./liliMonitors incoming faxes; sorts and processes accordingly, accurately and efficiently./liliCompletes medical record requests in a timely fashion./liliImports dictation daily, corrects errors, corresponds with Providers regarding issues and faxes dictation to ccd Providers daily./liliEnters new Provider information into external directory or makes changes as necessary./liliTracks missing dictations and logs; notifies Physicians; updates frequently with reminders./liliResponds to physician requests as needed./li/ulpKnowledge and Skills:/pulliProficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Internet./liliExcellent communication skills./liliMedical terminology and ability to recognize different types of patient reports./liliMaintains a professional, helpful, positive attitude which contributes to teamwork./liliKnowledge of record keeping procedures and policies preferred./liliKnowledge of governmental, legal and regulatory provisions related to patient records and HIPAA preferred./li/ulpEducation Qualification Requirements:/pulliMinimum of 1 year experience working in a medical records department preferred./liliMedical Oncology experience preferred./li/ulpWe offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package including health insurance, 401K and a great working environment.
