Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician who will spend 75% of their time on the production floor, ensuring a strong quality presence, while the remainder will involve desk work. The role includes cross-training to cover lab testing as needed, utilizing a FOSS machine for moisture, fats, and salt testing, as well as pH testing. The technician will perform QC audits on the floor and conduct sanitation audits during the third shift, which is a primary responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality presence on the production floor for 75% of working hours.
• Conduct lab testing using a FOSS machine for moisture, fats, and salt testing, and perform pH testing.
• Perform QC audits on the production floor.
• Conduct sanitation audits during the third shift.
• Collaborate closely with production, packaging, and scale room supervisors, as well as the Sanitation Manager during third shifts.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma with 1-3 years of experience in the food industry.
• Experience working under GMP regulations for 1-3 years; GDP and SQF experience is a plus.
• Trustworthy and independent worker with strong self-motivation.
• Ability to enforce procedures and ensure compliance on shift.
• Good communication skills for emailing different departments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Further education in food science is beneficial.
• Bilingual proficiency is preferred, particularly in Spanish.
• Experience with internal auditing and HACCP knowledge is advantageous.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
