Job Position: Inventory Clerk Trainee

Summary

The Inventory Clerk Trainee at CCS supports the day-to-day organization and management of inventory and warehouse operations for the design, installation, and service of low voltage security solutions. This position is designed to provide training and hands-on experience in inventory control, warehouse organization, product handling, and inventory recordkeeping. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing operational needs.

Essential Functions

• Assist with tracking incoming and outgoing products and documenting returned merchandise.

• Assist with maintaining accurate physical and digital inventory counts.

• Assist with processing and shipping inside sales orders.

• Receive, organize, label, and store products and materials in designated warehouse locations.

• Assist with updating inventory records and databases to reflect inventory movements.

• Help identify inventory discrepancies.

• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.

• Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.

• Assist with periodic inventory counts and safety inspections.

• Assist with minor maintenance and inventory checks for fleet vehicles as directed.

• Assist with the proper disposal of obsolete inventory and recyclables.

• Learn and follow established inventory, warehouse, safety, and organizational procedures.

General Duties

• Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and other staff to coordinate

inventory and warehouse-related tasks.

• Communicate regularly with the Inventory Specialist regarding inventory

needs, discrepancies, and assigned tasks.

• Contribute suggestions for improving warehouse organization and operational efficiency.

• Perform other warehouse and inventory-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn new processes and systems.

• Basic computer skills and ability to use standard office equipment.

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.

• Previous warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or related experience preferred but not

required.

• Ability to learn and utilize inventory management software and other computer systems.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, on-site position. Hours may vary to ensure that eight-hour shifts are covered

in the warehouse. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to

5:00 p.m. Occasional evening work may be required as job duties demand.

Work Environment

This job operates in both a warehouse and professional office environment. The role involves

frequent use of standard office equipment and occasional exposure to environmental factors

such as dust, fumes, and noise.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach.

• Lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
