Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position located in a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized neuro, spine, crani, and ENT surgical support within a busy surgical environment. Candidates are expected to have at least two years of experience in neuro cases and possess a strong background in neurosurgery procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Dayshift, 8-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; at least 2 years of neuro surgery experience, including knowledge of craniotomies, external ventricular drain (EVD) procedures, spine surgeries such as fusions and discectomies; neuro/ENT procedures like sinus and neck dissections; familiarity with navigation systems including Medtronic, Stryker, and Synaptive; strong background in neuro and spine surgeries is preferred. Valid certifications for scrub and safety protocols.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with robotic surgical systems is advantageous.
• Support on the Unit: Charge Nurse, Leads, Supervisors, and Managers provide clinical support.
• Charting System/Equipment: EPIC electronic health record system; Alaris infusion pumps; Pyxis medication systems; surgical navigation equipment.
• Orientation: 1 to 1.5 weeks, depending on team and unit needs.
• Additional Information: The position involves working in a high-volume, fast-paced surgical unit with a focus on neuro, ENT, orthopedics, and general surgeries. Flexibility in start times and holiday work options are available. Candidate must be prepared for a 30-minute on-call response and participation in an 8-week call schedule, subject to staffing needs. Scrubs will be provided; parking is free, with shuttle service available.
