Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)

Join the team as an Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) where you will operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images used by physicians to evaluate and treat emergency department patients. This role is based in Charlotte, NC at a hospital-based free-standing emergency department that opened in 2020 and provides on-site X-ray, CT, and ultrasound services 24/7. You will support an ED patient population and perform general ED ultrasound imaging and related clinical support tasks as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or ARRT(S) certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with general ED ultrasound imaging.
• Ability and willingness to perform additional ED support tasks when not performing sonography, including taking vitals, rooming patients, assisting with lines and labs, and brief sitter duties.
• Ability to assist with patient transport and movement when needed.
• Experience working with EPIC electronic medical record preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in emergency department settings or freestanding EDs preferred.
• Familiarity with Philips iSite PACS, Epic Radiant/RIS, and Siemens Sequoia ultrasound systems preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Float requirement: Yes. Coverage includes supporting ultrasound needs at sister FSED locations as needed.
• Department produces an average of approximately 5 studies per day and averages about 45 ED visits per day.
• Orientation: 1 day administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) plus 2 days to 1 week departmental orientation as needed.
• Scrub color: Black.
