Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve swallowing, cognitive, and communication abilities
• Work to decrease aspiration risks through evidence-based therapeutic techniques
• Implement communication strategies that help residents both express themselves and better understand others
• Lead, guide, and direct the delivery of speech language pathology and audiology services within the facility
• Ensure all services are provided in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, standards, and established facility policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of SLP experience required
• Active Texas State Speech Language Pathologist license required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a long term care or skilled nursing facility setting
• Familiarity with short-term rehabilitation programs
• Experience with dysphagia management and swallowing assessments
