Details Medical Surgical unit setting Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), 19:00-07:00 Charge nurse responsibilities required Floating required in rotation with staff, based on clinical experience and unit policies Uses Cerner/Oracle Health charting system (preferred, not required) Requirements Active Compact or VA RN license in hand BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required Oncology experience preferred but not required Candidates with pending certifications will be considered BSN not required Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, peripheral line care, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, feeding tube care, and insulin administration Cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and emergency response skills required Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including cardiac monitoring and telemetry Biweekly orientation held on Mondays, with 8-10 hours of required modules completed during orientation and annually Nicotine-free campus Scrubs of any color allowed with a professional appearance; child-friendly print tops and scrub/lab coats permitted Must reside within 60-mile radius of the facility Expect to work some holidays in rotation with staff RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, preferably none in the first few weeks Former Centra employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-749562.
