Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Valid Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience required - Charting system experience required - Experience with Epic is preferred Description: This position requires a registered nurse to work in a medical-surgical unit. The schedule is a night shift consisting of three 12-hour shifts. The nurse will float between units as needed. Weekends are required, with four weekend shifts within a six-week period. The expected patient ratio is 1:4. The facility is a short-term acute care center. Staffed beds total 379. This facility is a Level II trauma center. Uniforms for licensed nursing personnel must be solid navy blue. Print tops are not acceptable except in designated areas. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately eight patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. The unit handles diverse patient diagnoses, including end-of-life and comfort care cases. Candidates may be expected to float to nearby facilities when necessary. All travelers must comply with the scheduling requirements and work holiday shifts as outlined. Two references covering the last three years are required before the start of the assignment.
