Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 5:15 PM) or 5x8-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM) | 40 Guaranteed Hours per Week | On-Call Required (approximately 6–8 call shifts per month, including rotating weeknights and weekends)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care within a 30-bed Operating Room unit serving pediatric patients from newborn through 17 years of age
• Perform both scrub and circulator roles across a range of surgical procedures
• Utilize electronic health record and medication dispensing systems including Cerner, Accudose, and SBAR documentation
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule that includes weeknight and weekend coverage
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team within a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and major teaching hospital environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years of Operating Room RN experience specifically
• Prior travel nursing experience required – first-time travelers will not be considered
• Demonstrated proficiency in both scrub and circulate roles in a general OR setting
• Active West Virginia RN license or compact license (pending WV license accepted at time of submission; active license required prior to start)
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Permanent address must be a minimum of 75 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles considered on a case-by-case basis
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption documentation accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a pediatric surgical setting and/or women's specialty surgical environment
• Robotic surgical experience
• IV start skills
• ACLS and/or PALS certification (American Heart Association)
