Travel ASL Interpreter | Long Beach, California

A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide communication support in a school setting located in Long Beach, CA. This is a travel position that offers the opportunity to work with diverse student populations, facilitating effective communication and inclusion.


Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa to support students, teachers, and staff
• Assist in classroom activities, meetings, and events where communication access is essential
• Collaborate with educational teams to ensure appropriate support for students with hearing impairments
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethics
• Adapt interpreting strategies to meet individual student needs

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience
• Previous experience in an educational environment preferred
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and effective communication strategies
• Ability to travel to assigned school locations within Long Beach, CA
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
