Food & Beverage Supervisor, Food Court

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage, the Supervisor, Food and Beverage is responsible for the efficient scheduling and oversight of subordinate employees. The role’s purpose is to improve the quantity and quality of work, ensuring efficient and economical operations. Responsibilities Assist with day‑to‑day operation of the Food and Beverage venues, ensuring best‑in‑class service to all guests while following enterprise service standards. Prioritize the training and understanding of all line‑level positions to maintain and elevate brand standards, increasing overall guest satisfaction. Collaborate with venue leadership to develop and execute department initiatives that build sales, profitability, and cost control, and communicate department‑wide fiscal and operational goals. Ensure safety and health requirements are met according to applicable codes, track completion of required training, and serve food safely and timely. Determine materials, equipment, and facilities needed for efficient operations; ensure cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of the immediate workspace and adjacent areas, and maintain safety and security standards. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. Supervisory Responsibilities Interview, hire, and train employees. Plan, assign, review, and direct work. Evaluate and appraise performance, reward and discipline employees. Address complaints and resolve problems. Make hiring decisions and design individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles. Education and Experience Associate’s degree in hospitality management, food service, business, or a related field is required. Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant, customer service, or related experience is required. Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational requirements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to collaborate with and motivate others. Effective delegation, multi‑tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with strong organizational and time‑management skills. Maintain strict confidentiality and act consistently with all legal and regulatory requirements. Read, write, and communicate in English. Perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing needs and resolving issues. Communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members. Work under pressure while remaining calm and efficient during busy periods. Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification. ServSafe certification. At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, a gaming license may be required. Driving Responsibilities None – the role does not require a driver’s license or insurance. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Primary work environment is a climate‑controlled Casino & Resort setting. The role may require travel to meetings, trade shows, and conferences, and may involve evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. The position requires the ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Work is predominantly sedentary but also involves using computers, calculators, and printers. Physical demands include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Adequate hearing and visual acuity are required. Employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke.
