If you're looking for a job that's more than just a job, our Tech family is waiting for you!Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm / Security Systems Technician to install, program, troubleshoot, maintain, and service fire alarm, security, access control, and video surveillance systems for commercial and industrial customers. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically proficient, and thrives in a collaborative, customer-focused environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstall, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial fire alarm, intrusion alarm, access control, video surveillance (CCTV), and related low-voltage systems.Program, configure, and commission fire and security systems according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.Diagnose system issues and perform timely repairs to minimize customer downtime.Communicate professionally with customers regarding system operation, maintenance needs, and service recommendations.Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and other technicians to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope.Stay current on manufacturer certifications, code changes, and emerging technologies.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.Experience installing and servicing commercial fire alarm and/or electronic security systems.Working knowledge of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems.Ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical documentation.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent customer service and communication abilities.Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to pass required background screenings where applicable.Preferred QualificationsNICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level I-IV).Manufacturer certifications such as LenelS2, Genetec, Software House (CCURE), Avigilon, Axis, Bosch, Honeywell, Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, or similar.Knowledge of NFPA 72, National Electrical Code (NEC), and applicable local codes.Experience with IP networking fundamentals related to security and life safety systems.OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.Physical RequirementsFrequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Climb ladders, work on lifts, and perform overhead work.Bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces.Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to distinguish wire colors and perform precise wiring tasks.Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.Operate company vehicles safely.BenefitsTech Electronics offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and paid holidaysCompany vehicle (where applicable)Ongoing technical and professional developmentManufacturer certification trainingCareer advancement opportunitiesThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this position.
