Overview
Registered Nurse - NICU, located in San Luis Obispo, CA, US. Travel assignment begins 11/16/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,040–$2,194 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). This role is in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and provide nursing care to neonates in the NICU on assigned night shifts; develop and adjust care plans, administer medications, and monitor physiological changes.
- Support respiratory needs of neonates, including mechanical ventilation support, nasal CPAP/oxygen therapy, suctioning, and airway management as appropriate.
- Administer IV therapies and blood products; manage indwelling catheters and other drains; operate NICU equipment safely.
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record and monitor for changes in patient condition; perform ongoing assessments and respond to clinical events.
- Educate and support families, addressing psychosocial needs and involving them in care planning and education.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff within scope of practice; cross-train and float to Pediatrics as needed; maintain Competency in NICU and related care.

Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications per policy
- AHA- or ARC-PALS and AHA- or ARC-NRP required; RNC or CCRN certification preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Two years NICU experience required; Level III experience minimum; neonatal transport experience preferred
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Ability to work night shifts and to float to Pediatric care as needed
