Agricultural Service Technician

Agricultural Service Technician We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Agricultural Service Technician to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot grain dryer systems and related agricultural equipment. This role plays a critical part in keeping customers' operations running efficiently, particularly during busy harvest seasons. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, enjoy working independently in the field, and be comfortable interacting with farmers and site operators to provide technical support and recommendations. Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on grain dryers and related agricultural equipment Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools, including ohmmeters Repair or replace malfunctioning components to minimize equipment downtime Test and calibrate grain drying systems to ensure safe and efficient operation Assist with the installation and startup of new grain drying equipment Maintain accurate service records and documentation of completed work Coordinate service visits with farm operators and facility managers Communicate repair findings, maintenance recommendations, and equipment needs to customers Manage multiple service calls while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices Qualifications Experience working with grain dryers, agricultural equipment, or similar mechanical systems preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills Experience using electrical diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams Knowledge of motors, sensors, control panels, and electrical systems Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the service area Strong communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications Farm background or agricultural experience Experience servicing grain handling, drying, or storage systems Familiarity with both mechanical and electrical repairs Experience maintaining service records and documentation Willingness to participate in ongoing technical training Compensation & Benefits $22 – $35/hour, depending on experience and technical skill level Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) and retirement savings options Paid time off (PTO) Employee discount programs On-the-job training and professional development opportunities Long-term career growth within a stable agricultural industry Work Environment Field-based role servicing grain dryers and agricultural equipment at farms and commercial facilities Regular travel throughout Southern Minnesota Hands-on work involving mechanical and electrical systems, motors, sensors, and control panels Work performed in agricultural, industrial, and outdoor environments Frequent interaction with farmers, facility managers, and equipment operators Safety-focused environment requiring attention to detail and adherence to established procedures If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy solving problems, and want to build a career supporting the agricultural industry, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team that values technical expertise, customer service, and continuous learning.
