Environmental Field Technician Opportunity

Tetra Tech is looking for a full-time environmental field technician to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio to support various environmental projects throughout the mid-west, predominantly within Ohio. Position Summary

This position will support a variety of contracts with federal, state, and commercial clients, with a focus on brownfield redevelopment programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work successfully both independently and in team settings. Essential Job Functions

• This position will support environmental investigations predominantly in a field setting, with the following general responsibilities: o Completing field data collection activities, including soil, groundwater, sediment, drinking water, soil gas, and indoor air sampling. o Conducting Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments, as well as UST closure and corrective action investigations. o Logging and USCS classification of collected soil cores. o Field oversight and management of subcontractors during completion of geophysical surveys and private utility clearances; drilling and installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, and soil gas probes; and excavation and other remedial activities. o Conducting asbestos and lead-based paint surveys as well as oversight during abatement. o Providing technical support in the areas of emergency response, removal assessment, and removal action. o Maintaining a rotating on-call readiness to handle emergency responses and provide remedial and restoration guidance/solutions to clients. o Communication and interaction with vendors, clients, and subcontractors.

Required Qualifications

o 3 to 8+ years of environmental consulting or related experience. o Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal). o Must be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. o This position requires driving on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good standing is required.

Preferred Qualifications

o B.S./B.A. in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field. o Previous experience with site investigations, remediation, or field sampling (including Ohio EPA VAP and/or Ohio BUSTR) preferred, but not required. o Previous experience supporting US EPA contracts and/or emergency response programs. o OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER with 8-Hour Refresher. o Asbestos and/or lead certification.

Physical Requirements

o Must be able to walk around project sites in all types of terrain and be physically able to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment. o Must be able to complete annual medical monitoring program.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors

o This position will require outdoor work within the U.S. during all seasons, including peak summer and winter conditions. o Overnight travel may also be required, could be in excess of 40%.

Additional Information

Work schedule is typically Monday – Friday. Overtime requirements will be as needed based on project and field events. Field work and travel encompasses up to 80% of this role.
