Position Summary

The Field Service Engineer I provides product installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance services on medical and industrial equipment at customer locations.

This is an entry-level opportunity. Training will be provided to qualified candidates who demonstrate strong technical aptitude, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Functions

• Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair assigned medical and industrial equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in the field.
• Service electro-mechanical products at customer locations.
• Work with compliant wiring harnesses and sensitive electronic components.
• Complete service documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and management.
• Follow company, customer-site, safety, and quality procedures.
• Travel extensively, potentially up to 80% or more, based on business and customer requirements.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Technical Competencies

• Experience servicing electro-mechanical products preferred.
• Experience working with compliant wiring harnesses and sensitive electronic components preferred.
• Familiarity with common field service tools, including vacuum/pressure meters, frequency counters, and digital multimeters.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, procedures, and service documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while remaining an effective member of a service team.
• Willingness and ability to learn new equipment, technologies, and procedures.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of field service and/or electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience is preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with relevant education, technical training, hands-on experience, or demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

Travel and Transportation Requirements

• This position requires frequent travel, potentially up to 80% or more.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation for field-based work.
• Candidates must be able to rent a vehicle and meet standard rental-car requirements when business travel requires it.
• Approved car rental, mileage, lodging, airfare, and other business travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with standard travel and expense policies.
• A company credit card will be provided for approved business-related travel and expenses.
• The ability to travel to customer sites, sometimes on short notice, is required.

Background Check and Customer-Site Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check and meeting applicable customer-site access requirements.

Some customer locations may require additional screening, documentation, vaccinations, or other health and safety requirements before access is granted. Candidates must be willing and able to satisfy such requirements when applicable.
