About the Role
The Company is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to play a pivotal role in the establishment of a new life and annuity platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading the finance, capital, and regulatory framework, driving capital strategy, and supporting fundraising efforts. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders such as investors, lenders, auditors, rating agencies, and regulators. The CFO will also oversee the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and capital plans, ensuring they are in line with regulatory requirements and growth objectives. Applicants for the CFO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in progressive financial leadership, particularly within the life and annuity sector. Deep knowledge of NAIC regulatory reporting, life and annuity company financial operations, and experience in capital raising and managing stakeholder relationships are essential. The role requires the creation of scalable financial systems and controls, as well as expertise in reinsurance structures, capital optimization, and insurance-specific financial systems. A CPA, MBA, or advanced degree in actuarial science or finance is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building finance functions, particularly in startup or scale-up environments, and be adept at leading all audit activities and managing external partnerships across various financial functions.
