Position Summary

The Production Manager is in charge of the day-to-day operations of manufacturing. Responsible for building a high-performing workforce, the effective use of all the manufacturing equipment and the continuous improvement of the material flow throughout the manufacturing facility. Ensure that production goals and quality standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership can be defined as "getting things done while building relationships".

Production Manager leads by example first.
Production Managers shows a high respect for the individual, recognizing that processes (not just people) determine the quality of the organization's outputs.
Production Manager is committed of creating a work environment that promotes both health and safety of employees.
Production Managers show their commitment to developing people and disseminating the best practices on their field.
Respect and ethical behavior, positive attitude open to listen other points of view, excellent attendance, excellent track of Quality and display a high degree of ownership and accountability

Production Manager is in charge of implementing the company strategy, vision and mission.
Production Manager is in charge of the development of work area leaders: They have to know each person on the group, stretch people to their capacity, show confidence, set standards that pursuit excellence and provide constant feedback.

Skills

Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and movement of aerospace parts and assemblies.
Mechanical: Knowledge and familiarity of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning execution, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Education and Training: Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.
Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Oral Expression: The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
Oral Comprehension: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Written Comprehension: The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Problem Sensitivity: The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Position Requirements

A four-year Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree. Six years in Aerospace Manufacturing work experience may be substituted.
Four years work experience in a management/supervisory role.
Familiar with a variety of the aerospace manufacturing field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Proficient with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts preferable with a recognized certification.
Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP Applications.
