Licensed School Social Worker

We are actively seeking a licensed, trauma-informed School Social Worker / Counselor to join our elite clinical-instructional team. We don't believe in siloed therapy or treating mental health as an after-school afterthought.

In this role, you will be embedded directly into our Clinical Triad —partnering alongside an on-site Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Special Education Teacher. Together, you will design and maintain a predictive, low-arousal therapeutic milieu engineered specifically for students facing complex psychiatric, neurodivergent, and trauma-impacted challenges (including Emotional Disturbance, Autism, and high-acuity behavior profiles).

Key Domains of Impact

Clinical Milieu and Evidence-Based Interventions

Trauma-Focused Care - You will implement cognitive behavioral strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to assist students out of survival-mode responses.

Emotional Regulation - You will be expected to u tilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) frameworks (such as DBT STEPS-A) to systematically teach mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Tiered SEL Supports - You will facilitate Tier 2 and Tier 3 social-emotional interventions using research-validated curricula like The Zones of Regulation , Social Thinking , Second Step , and Overcoming Obstacles .

Restorative Justice - You will l ead life space crisis interventions (LSCI), restorative reflection circles, and "repair the harm" protocols to resolve behavioral conflicts and preserve student dignity.

Systemic Advocacy and Interagency Collaboration

Philadelphia Service Network Access - You will be expected to act as a critical resource navigator, connecting underserved families to the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS), child welfare systems, and localized shelter/food infrastructure.

CBH Pipeline Coordination - You will be expected to streamline clinical authorizations and coordinate care directly with Community Behavioral Health (CBH) and home-based Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) providers.

Unified Treatment Architecture - You will represent the educational sector during multi-stakeholder Interagency Team Meetings (ITM) with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and community umbrella agencies (CUA) to keep foster and justice-involved youth securely on graduation paths.

Attendance Stabilization and Truancy Prevention

Proactive Engagement - You will be expected to deploy our rapid-response attendance framework to catch chronic absenteeism at the Tier 2 boundary (3–5 unexcused absences).

SAIC Leadership - You will facilitate mandatory School Attendance Improvement Conferences (SAIC) with families to uncover and remediate root-cause barriers like health vulnerabilities or transportation mechanics.

Attendance Contracts - You will be expected to author formal Attendance Improvement Plans (AIP) and connect them back to positive behavioral reward structures to incentivize daily arrivals.

Digital Governance and Family Partnerships

EasyIEP Fidelity - You will be expected to maintain end-to-end documentation within the district's native EasyIEP software platform, logging quantitative related service counseling minutes and contributing clinical narratives to evaluation reports (ER/RR).

Partners in Progress (PiP) - You will be expected to facilitate virtual and in-person therapeutic workshops quarterly to assist parents in generalizing school-based emotional regulation routines to the home environment.

Qualifications and Compliance Matrix

Academic Degree

Master of Social Work (MSW) or Master's in Counseling
