Your Role And Responsibilities As a Delivery Consultant specializing in Expert Labs for GDPS on Z, you will provide clients with world‑class services to optimize their GDPS system health and performance. This role involves analyzing system health, guiding clients on best practices, and identifying new features and functions. Your primary responsibilities will include: Analyze System Health: Provide in‑depth analysis of clients' GDPS system health, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for optimization. Guide Best Practices: Offer expert guidance on best practices for optimizing GDPS product performance, ensuring clients can maximize their system’s potential. Identify New Features: Stay up‑to‑date on new features and functions available for GDPS on Z, advising clients on how to leverage these to enhance their system’s capabilities. Drive Solution Delivery: Develop and deliver tailored solutions to address clients' specific needs, driving business outcomes through effective GDPS system optimization. Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise IBM Expert Labs organization is seeking an IBM Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (IBM GDPS®) IT Delivery Consultant with expertise in IBM Z and storage technology and products to lead and deliver pre‑sales and post‑sales client engagements that enable the adoption of IBM GDPS®. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated a successful history of implementing IBM GDPS® engagements, be familiar with sysplex architectural methods, can independently assess IT infrastructures, evaluate gaps in best practices and create GDPS® solution recommendations for client environments while displaying excellent collaboration and communication with clients, sellers, business partners and colleagues by delivering reports to clients. You will work with customers, IBM Sales, and Business Partners to position, scope, and deliver IBM GDPS®, which is a collection of system recovery offerings on the IBM Z® platform, each of which uses services, clustering technologies, and server and storage replication and automation. Candidates must possess a strong background in executive consulting or technical sales and knowledge of IBM’s GDPS® portfolio. Key Responsibilities Setting up, configuring and cloning z/OS LPARs and sysplexes. Configuring and customizing GDPS® functional capabilities. Designing and customizing NetView automation, REXX, and JCL to support the GDPS® environment. Assisting with customer GDPS® deployment testing, providing technical guidance and skills transfer to customer personnel. Producing planning and implementation reports and documentation. Installing, configuring, and testing GDPS scripts, procedures, and actions. Demonstrating strong knowledge of the IBM Systems Z hardware and software ecosystem, DS8K hardware, and implementation. Exhibiting strong z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, networking, and automation skills. Implementing isolated environments with IBM CyberVault technology. Required Skills And Experience Deep expertise in GDPS on Z, including system architecture, configuration, and performance optimization. Proven experience in system health analysis, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing optimization strategies. Extensive knowledge of best practices for optimizing GDPS product performance, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging features and functions for GDPS on Z and ability to advise clients on adoption. Track record of delivering tailored solutions that drive business outcomes through GDPS system optimization. Preferred Technical And Professional Experience Advanced GDPS configuration knowledge and understanding of its impact on system performance. Expert troubleshooting skills for complex GDPS on Z systems, including problem isolation and resolution.
