Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant

Provide individualized physical therapy care to patients in their homes across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations Administer prescribed physical therapy treatments to patients in all stages of life Work under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and licensed physical therapist Assist with program development and discipline-specific operations Communicate and document information according to agency policies, procedures, and discipline-specific guidelines Contribute to program effectiveness and maintain customer satisfaction Organize and perform work effectively and efficiently Maintain and adjust schedules to enhance agency performance Participate in professional responsibilities including student programs and performance improvement programs Provide patient consultation and communicate with other professionals Demonstrate the agency’s mission, vision, and values Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Associate Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program Licensure in the state in which providing therapy (NC/SC) CPR certification Minimum 6 Months experience Knowledge of physical therapy procedures Ability to manipulate patient care and evaluation equipment, including goniometers, modalities, assistive devices and exercise equipment Ability to properly transfer and guard patients Ability to apply manual therapy techniques Ability to deal with the public, co-workers, patients, families, and physicians in a professional and positive manner Ability to apply physical therapy principles and use professional reasoning to develop appropriate treatment programs Ability to prioritize duties, learn new skills and techniques in patient care Ability to learn and use computer technology and supportive services Ability to see and communicate clearly in order to perform basic therapy techniques 40 hour work weeks, variable Monday-Friday, weekends and holidays as needed Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license and an operational vehicle Requires significant standing and walking, frequent lifting greater than 50 lbs and transferring patients greater than 100 lbs Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in providing individualized physical therapy care across diverse populations, utilizing knowledge of physical therapy procedures and manual therapy techniques.
