Staff Accountant

TITLE: Staff Accountant LOCATION: Denver, CO 80237 (hybrid schedule) SALARY: $70k to $75k Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records by performing core accounting functions, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting timely and accurate financial reporting. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting while partnering with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and record journal entries to support accurate month-end close. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal policies. Perform month-end account reconciliations and investigate variances. Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and management reports. Support regulatory reporting and required filings. Assist with internal and external audit requests, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation. Assist with accounts payable processing and related reconciliations as needed. Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and operational teams to support accurate financial outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or Equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment. Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Ability and interest to learn, adopt, and leverage new tools and technology to enhance accounting processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
