Asia Society Policy Institute Fall Internship Position: Asia Society Policy Institute Fall Internship FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Location: New York Department: Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) Reports To: Director of Strategy and Engagement Compensation: $16.50/hour Duration: September to December Application Deadline : Sunday, July 20 at 11:59 PM ET Summary With a problem-solving mandate, the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) is a think- and do- tank that tackles major policy challenges confronting the Asia-Pacific in Security & Diplomacy; Trade, Investment, & Innovation; Climate & Energy; and Society, Technology, & Public Health. The Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) is seekingan exceptional internwith a demonstrated interest inAsia policy.Asuccessfulcandidate would be assigned to an advisor during the course of the internshipbased on interest. Responsibilities The internwill have the opportunity to be immersed in the daily workings of an Asia policy think-and-dotank, furthertheir research and writing skills, and learn from our vast network of experts.Some projects/activities might include: Program support of ongoing projects including, but not limited to: event/conference coordination, event management, and drafting invitations and event documents; Track and research current developments in Asia; Write, edit, and proofread in-depth research assignments, policy memos, and event/meeting summaries; Draft policy-focused webcontent; Data entry, including updating and maintaining contact databases; Take minutes during meetings and roundtables as directed; Independent research and writing as timeallows; Perform other duties as assigned. Asia Society Policy Instituteinterns will work in ourNew Yorkoffice in a hybrid capacity (three days in the office). Requirements Candidates should be able to commit to 18-20 hours per week for a period of at least 12 weeks; Must be at least a junior in an undergraduate degree program, a graduate student, or recent graduate; Demonstrate familiarity with Asia policy issues through previous academic study and/or internship experience; Must have the ability to work independently; Strong research, writing, and editing skills; Excellent attention to detail; Ability to meet tight deadlines; Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and social media platforms; Flexibility with handling diverse tasks; Full professional proficiency in English; Proficiency in an Asian language, a plus; Be based in the U.S., as well as have U.S. work authorization. Compensation Internships are paid at $16.50/hour and in person. Fall 2025 interns will be expected to participate in person at the ASPI offices in New York, subject to CDC guidelines, for at least three days a week. About Asia Society Founded in 1956 by John D.
