LVN - Responsibilities

The LVN provides direct care to assigned patients, including monitoring their condition, changing dressings, administering medications, and assisting with daily living activities. Report any changes in the patient's condition to the Registered Nurse (RN). Educate patients and families on medications and equipment usage. Record patient information accurately in the medical chart, including vital signs, responses to treatment, and care provided. Report observations about the patient's physical and emotional state. The LVN assists with various medical procedures and tests, such as collecting samples and positioning patients. Recognize and respond to emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary arrest and disruptive behavior. Care for patients requiring constant observation. Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications according to policy. Observe and report patient reactions to medications. Secure and manage narcotic medications. Report to the RN about completed tasks, patient changes, and remaining care needs. The LVN collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure patient care coordination.

LVN - Requirements

Years of Experience: minimum of (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years as a licensed practical nurse. Minimum Education: A.S. Degree from an Accredited Nursing School Program. A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia. Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support).
