About the Position

Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician Profession: Certified Surgical Technician Specialty: Certified Surgical Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 AM - 03:00 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Not specified Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Must take call - Will work holidays Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Assists surgeons by preparing the operating room and handling surgical instruments. Maintains a sterile field during operations. Responsibilities include pre-operative setup of sterile equipment and patient prep. Intra-operative support involves passing instruments and assisting with tissue retraction. Post-operative duties include applying dressings and preparing specimens. Experience with extensive neuro and robotics in multiple specialties preferred. Radical neck experience is required.
