CPR/First Aid Instructor

Position Summary The YMCA at Norton Commons offers an opportunity for a career with a future and the chance to make a lasting difference in your community. As a key member of the Aquatics team, a CPR/First Aid Instructor is responsible for teaching American Heart Association and/or ASHI standardized classes to staff team members or community participants. The purpose of this position is to provide an environment for staff and participants to learn these lifesaving skills to be used in their everyday job duties. Essential Responsibilities Uphold the Mission of the YMCA Teach the minimum number of classes required for employment by the Aquatics’ Director Complete all necessary paperwork/documentation required by AHA, ASHI & YMCA Be punctual and prepared for all assigned classes Use proper decontamination procedures for all class equipment Maintain all certifications required to instruct classes Lead and teach CPR and First Aid classes to staff and community members Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required by Aquatics’ Director Qualifications Attention to detail Consistent positive attitude Team player with personal commitment to the YMCA Mission, Philosophy, & Character Development Values Excellent communication (written & verbal) skills Customer service & general office skills High School graduate or equivalent Minimum age 18 years People centered, service oriented Physical Demands Ability to hear, speak & see Ability to lift 40 pounds Ability to stand and teach for long periods of time The YMCA of Greater Louisville is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
