Field Service Technician

Field-Based PositionThis is a field-based position that involves driving to job sites, coordinating with city inspectors, providing access to equipment when needed, setting up ladders, and remaining on-site while inspections are completed. In addition, you can obtain permits from the city buildings.Drive to residential job sites throughout the assigned service areaArrive on time and be prepared before the city inspector arrivesWait on-site for city inspectors, which may sometimes involve extended wait timesSafely transport, carry, set up, and take down extension laddersProvide inspectors with safe access to attics, rooftops, HVAC equipment, electrical panels, water heaters, and other areas as requiredAssist with basic access needs at the propertyCommunicate professionally with city inspectors, homeowners, contractors, and our office teamUnderstand and follow basic instructions related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and building inspectionsUse a smartphone and company applications to receive assignments, review job information, upload photos, add notes, and provide real-time updatesTake clear photos of equipment, permits, inspection results, correction notices, and job-site conditionsImmediately communicate inspection results or issues to the officeKeep ladders and other assigned equipment organized and in good conditionFollow all company and job-site safety proceduresRequirementsValid driver's license and clean/reliable driving recordComfortable driving for extended periodsPhysically able to carry, maneuver, and safely set up an extension ladder up to 50 LBSComfortable working outdoors and around residential construction environmentsBasic handyman or construction knowledge preferredAble to understand basic technical and construction terminologyFamiliarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, or general construction is a plusComfortable using smartphones, mobile apps, email, GPS/navigation, and taking/uploading photosStrong communication skillsProfessional and respectful when interacting with homeowners and city inspectorsDependable, punctual, and able to work independently without constant supervisionPatient and comfortable waiting for inspectors when inspection windows are delayedAble to follow detailed instructions and accurately report information back to the officeSafety-conscious and able to recognize when a situation is unsafe
