Job Title Title: Student Ambassador Position Type Position Type: Workstudy College College: Red Rocks Community College Campus Campus: Lakewood Job Summary The Admissions and Outreach Department at RRCC seeks a Student Ambassador to provide quality customer service to prospective students and their families. Duties include campus tours, information sessions, open houses, enrollment and registration assistance, student panels, outreach events, and campus navigation. Ambassadors serve as the first point of contact by answering questions, giving directions from information desks, mailing information, maintaining a database of prospective students, and making outbound phone calls. Responsibilities also encompass planning and implementing tours, attending student events, ambassador meetings, professional development workshops or trainings, maintaining professional attire, and occasionally working special events outside normal business hours. Responsibilities Lead campus tours, information sessions, and open houses. Assist with enrollment, registration, and student panels. Respond to inquiries from prospective students and families. Provide directions and mailing information at the information desk. Maintain a database of prospective students. Make outbound phone calls to current and future students. Help plan and implement campus tours and outreach events. Attend student events, ambassador meetings, and professional development sessions. Maintain professional attire while on duty. Participate in special events that may fall outside normal business hours. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Willingness to expand knowledge and skills related to inclusion and diversity. Qualifications For work study employment: RRCC student granted a work study award for the semester of employment and maintaining eligibility. Enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours) and meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for all credits. Completed at least one semester at RRCC with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. For student hourly employment: RRCC student enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours). Completed at least one semester at RRCC with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Other required qualifications: Commitment to equity, quality customer service, and effective communication with diverse backgrounds. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced computer skills, including virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Webex, etc.). Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic. Self‑starter with time‑management skills and strong attention to detail. Eligibility to work from the Lakewood campus. Preferred Qualifications Public speaking skills. Provide at least one letter of recommendation and demonstrate active campus involvement. Physical & Cognitive Demands Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs. Primarily sedentary role operating a computer and standard office equipment. Continuous communication with internal and external constituents. Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills. Benefits The hourly pay for this position is $18.81–$19.31 per hour. The role is part‑time, FLSA non‑exempt. Medical insurance is offered to instructors and other variable‑hour employees who have worked, on average, at least 30 hours per week in a 12‑month period.
