Automation Personnel Services, Inc. is looking for an experienced  Tool Room Attendant in  Orlando, FL to own the tool room end-to-end and will be accountable for every tool, gauge and piece of equipment it holds. The goal of the role is zero lost tools: every item issued is traced to a named person and returned, repaired, or formally written off.

Pay Rate
$25.00-$35.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus per diem and travel pay

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am -7:00 pm . Must be available for overtime. Able to travel and stay out of town for long periods of time.

Tool Room Attendant   Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive all incoming tools, equipment and consumables; verify against purchase orders and packing slips for quantity, model, serial number and condition.
• Report shortages, damage and wrong items to Purchasing within 24 hours and hold disputed items in a quarantine area.
• Tag, label or engrave every durable tool with an asset number or barcode/RFID before it enters service.
• Enter new items into tool tracking system the same day they are received. 
• Keep the tool room organized with a defined location for every item (shadow boards, labeled bins, bin-location codes.
• Maintain minimum/maximum stock levels for consumables and initiate reorders before stockouts.
• Issue tools only to authorized personnel against a signed or scanned checkout process.
• Inspect tools on issue and on return; record condition and route damaged tools to repair or replacement.
• Track all open checkouts daily and follow up on any tool not returned by end of shift or due date.
• Run end-shift reconciliation report to ensure every outstanding tool is accounted for before the room closes.
• Manage long-term assignments (personal tool kits, crew boxes) with signed custody forms and periodic audits.
• Run scheduled cycle counts and a full physical inventory at least annually; reconcile variances against system records.
• Report weekly on open checkouts, overdue items, losses, damage and replacement

  Tool Room Attendant   Qualifications   and   Requirements  

• 7+ years Tool Room, tool crib, or warehouse storeroom experience required.
• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to identify and judge the condition of hand tools, power tools (corded, cordless, pneumatic, hydraulic), cutting tools, rigging, lifting gear and precision measuring instruments.
• Able to perform cycle counts, min/max reordering, receiving against POs and reconciling variances.
• OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred), knowledge of lockout/tagout, PPE and safe handling of tools and chemicals.
• Forklift Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Accurate Data entry
• Attention to details.
• Able to successfully pass background and drug screening.
