Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient function through formal and informal testing measures to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status
• Develop goal-specific treatment regimens based on assessment data and patient tolerance
• Submit and maintain written treatment plans coordinated with physician orders, updating the plan of care as patient status changes
• Devise frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules in coordination with patients, families, caregivers, and clinical support staff
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding their condition, prognosis, treatment rationale, and interventions including exercise, modalities, and rest
• Delegate responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides as appropriate, and co-sign verbal orders received by the Physical Therapist Assistant as necessary

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Physical Therapist License (LARA must reflect Active status)
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
• Outpatient physical therapy experience required
• Current Skills Checklist (within the last year, pertinent to Physical Therapy) required
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with Epic EMR
• Experience in a rural or community hospital setting
• Strong patient and family education skills across a variety of conditions and diagnoses
