Medical Office Assistant-Limited License Radiology TechFull Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day ShiftCovenant Medical Group is Covenant Health's employed and managed medical practice organization, with more than 300 top physicians and providers spanning the continuum of care in 20 cities throughout East Tennessee. Specialties include cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, infectious disease, neurology, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, occupational medicine, orthopedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, primary care, pulmonology, reproductive medicine, rheumatology, sleep medicine and urology.Position Summary:Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients receiving treatments and examination, according to established procedures.ResponsibilitiesMaintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.Orients, instructs and trains assigned personnel.Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives and infection control policies.Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment. Accurately records history and perform basic triage procedures per policy including accurate vitals.Retrieves initial basic condition of patients and reports to appropriate practitioner.Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit.Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and well maintained equipment.Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur.Schedules all outside patient appointments per physician order and relays accurately to patients.Take calls from hospitals/ nursing homes and relays appropriate information to practitioner in a timely manner.Assures test results are received and relayed to patient in a timely manner.Completes medical orientation checklist.Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.Attend meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.Performs radiographic examinations as licensed by certification.Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service or clinical supervisor for major malfunctions.Directs patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains rooms.Perform other duties as assigned or requested.Collaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care.QualificationsMinimum Education:None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.Minimum Experience:One (1) year experience in medical office setting.Licensure Requirement:Successful completion of a state approved educational program in at least one Radiology modality. Must complete and pass state testing requirements to achieve "X-ray operator in an MD office" (MXRT) licensure in the state of Tennessee for applicable modalities. Considered limited scope. CPR required. Must hold CCMA or equivalent MA certification.
