People and Culture Manager

Redwood Outdoors sells the fastest-growing category in wellness: premium outdoor saunas and cold plunges. We’re expanding fast with showrooms in Seattle, LA, New York, and Salt Lake City plus more locations coming next year. We are seeking a strategic, people-first People and Culture Manager to lead the People function, reporting directly to the CEO. This role shapes employee experience, strengthens culture, and supports organizational growth. As a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, this role oversees People Operations, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and leadership development. It's both a strategic partner and hands-on operator, helping Redwood scale while keeping our culture strong and values-driven. What You'll Do in the Role: Lead all People & Culture programs and operations organization-wide. Partner with executive leadership to align people strategy with business goals. Advise leaders on org design, workforce planning, succession planning, and team effectiveness. Build scalable systems and processes to support company growth. Set and track People & Culture goals and metrics. Culture, Employee Experience & Engagement Champion Redwood Outdoors’ values and culture at every level. Lead engagement, recognition, wellness, and culture-building initiatives. Strengthen employee connection, retention, and alignment with company mission. Create vision for company events, leadership workshops, culture programs/offsites to be executed by team. Performance Management & Organizational Development Lead performance review cycles, calibration, and development programs. Help managers set clear goals and development plans. Build leadership capabilities through coaching and management resources. Support career growth and internal mobility. Executive Partnership & Total Rewards Serve as a trusted thought partner to leadership on people-related decisions and key business initiatives. Support cross-functional alignment on people strategies that drive business outcomes. Oversee compensation bands, career frameworks, and pay practices. Partner with leadership on merit increases, promotions, and retention. Compliance & People Operations Ensure compliance with employment laws at all levels. Maintain policies, handbooks, and employment documentation. Manage leave administration, accommodations, records, and HRIS. Build SOPs and scalable People Ops practices. Directly manage and develop a team of 2, a People and Talent Specialist and People Coordinator. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities to support team members' growth and effectiveness. Set direction and priorities across recruiting, HR operations, people programs, and employee relations, ensuring the team executes with quality and consistency. Remove roadblocks, provide guidance on complex situations, and elevate or advise on sensitive matters as needed. Build and refine processes that enable the People team to scale efficiently as the business grows. What You'll Need for the Role: Required 5+ years of progressive Human Resources, People Operations, or People & Culture experience. 1+ years of leadership or management experience. Strong understanding of employee relations, recruiting, performance management, employment law, and HR best practices. Experience supporting leaders and influencing business decisions through people strategies. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and judgment. Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Preferred Experience supporting multi-state workforces. Experience building People programs and infrastructure in a growing organization. Experience with compensation frameworks, career architecture, and organizational development. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or related certification is a plus. Work Schedule: Schedule: Monday-Friday (8 hours a day between the hours of 7:00am-5:30pm) -Ideal Start Date: Between November 16-30th Work Location Onsite at HQ: 20730 72nd Ave S Kent, WA 98032 (WFH on Fridays) Compensation: As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into this position. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and education/certification(s). Please note: The salary for this position falls within this predefined range. If your compensation expectations exceed this range, we kindly ask that you refrain from applying. This ensures alignment between candidate expectations and the role’s budget.
