Audio Visual Systems Engineer
Sugar Land, TX | Onsite | 12+ Month Contract

iSphere is looking for an Audio Visual Systems Engineer who knows there's a big difference between "the meeting started" and "the meeting actually worked."

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys designing, building, and supporting enterprise AV environments. From courtrooms and conference rooms to digital signage and county-wide AV standards, you'll help create systems that people rarely think about... until they stop working.

You'll be the go-to expert for designing new AV solutions, integrating hardware and software, troubleshooting complex issues, and helping shape the future of the county's audiovisual technology.

What they're really looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4+ years of professional Audio Visual systems experience
• Strong knowledge of AV protocols including HDMI, DVI, SDI, AV over IP, HDCP, HDR, and related technologies
• Experience with Crestron, Extron, QSC, and other enterprise AV platforms
• Understanding of audio/video signal flow, routing, control systems, and AV networking
• Experience with fiber, Ethernet, structured cabling, and system integration
• Strong troubleshooting skills across both AV and IT environments
• Excellent documentation and communication skills

You'll spend your time:

• Designing and integrating AV systems for courtrooms, meeting spaces, and digital signage
• Installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise AV hardware and software
• Creating wiring diagrams, parts lists, system documentation, and installation guides
• Working with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues
• Supporting video cameras, audio systems, control processors, and network-connected AV equipment
• Developing standards, templates, and best practices for future AV deployments
• Maintaining system documentation, user guides, and troubleshooting resources
• Recommending upgrades and improvements that keep county technology moving forward

This role isn't just about plugging in displays and hoping HDMI behaves itself. It's about designing reliable systems that hundreds of people depend on every day, often without ever realizing how much work goes into making everything look effortless.
