Temporary Litigation Paralegal - Construction Law
Location: Dallas, TX
Pay: $35-38/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Assignment: Temporary Maternity Leave Coverage


Hire Up Staffing is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to provide temporary maternity leave coverage for an established Dallas law firm specializing in construction law and civil litigation .


This position is ideal for an experienced litigation paralegal who can step into an active caseload, quickly become familiar with ongoing matters, and provide dependable support to attorneys throughout the duration of the assignment. Previous experience with construction litigation, commercial litigation, or complex civil litigation is highly preferred.
Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys handling construction and civil litigation matters.
  
  
• Assist with all phases of litigation, from initial case development through discovery, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial.
  
  
• Draft, prepare, review, and organize pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  
  
• Coordinate and manage discovery, including document collection, review, organization, and production.
  
  
• Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, evidence, and supporting documentation.
  
  
• Track court deadlines, discovery deadlines, hearings, depositions, and other important case dates.
  
  
• Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, court appearances, and meetings.
  
  
• Assist attorneys with deposition and witness preparation.
  
  
• Prepare exhibits, trial binders, deposition materials, chronologies, and case summaries.
  
  
• Perform electronic filing with state and federal courts.
  
  
• Conduct factual and legal research as needed.
  
  
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, vendors, and other parties.
  
  
• Assist with trial and hearing preparation and provide additional litigation support as needed.
  
  
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive client and case information.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience preferred.
  
  
• Experience supporting civil or commercial litigation required.
  
  
• Construction litigation or construction law experience strongly preferred.
  
  
• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, pleadings, and court filing requirements.
  
  
• Experience with Texas state court procedures; federal court experience is a plus.
  
  
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
  
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document/case management systems.
  
  
• Paralegal certificate or related education preferred.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced litigation paralegal who is comfortable joining an established legal team and taking over active responsibilities during a maternity leave. This person should be organized, confident managing litigation deadlines, and capable of supporting attorneys with minimal ramp-up time.
