Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Part Time) Req #: 2026-BOTH-005 Location: Virginia and Beardstown Clinical?: Clinical FT/PT Status: Regular Part Time Schedule: TBD - Part Time Hours Position Summary The PMHNP works independently with patients, students, school staff, healthcare providers and healthcare team members to maintain an office that respects the dignity and worth of the individual and conveys an attitude of caring for patients and their physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. The PMHNP provides psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for patients served by the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The PMHNP works collaboratively within an integrated, team based care model to support continuity of care and improved patient outcomes. The PMHNP will work with patients in reaching personal health improvement goals. They must be able to quickly assimilate to the patient’s culture, environment and goals. Relationships based on trust, an understanding of the patient’s health benefits program and the local health care community is required. Strong collaborative skills are necessary in order to make the best use of all resources available to the patient. The PMHNP will engage patients in personal health improvement, provide care coordination services and act as a resource and advocate for patient health care needs. The mid-level practitioner understands the health impact that can be made by managing chronic conditions and providing patient’s unencumbered access to care. Benefits TBD based on hours worked Salary Range: $50-$70 per hour based on experience Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose and treat mental health conditions using evidence‑based practices Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments Provide psychiatric medication management and monitoring Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans Collaborate with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, care managers, and nursing staff as part of an integrated care team Provide culturally competent, trauma-informed care consistent with HRSA standards Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, self‑management tasks and follow‑up care Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) to support quality measures and UDS reporting Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives Maintain compliance with HRSA Section 330 requirements, FQHC policies, and applicable state and federal regulations Provide services in person and/or via telehealth, as permitted by policy and regulation Work collaboratively with senior management to set goals and objectives for the clinic including expansion of services Meet regularly with clinic staff to ensure care coordination, referral management and clinical workflow processes are operating efficiently Attend and participate in daily team huddle to facilitate patient care Collaborate with other professional personnel and ancillary members of the healthcare team in determining care, treatment and general management of patients Participate in continuing education and in‑service programs Participate in patient care quality assurance programs Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Qualifications National PMHNP board certification Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start date) Eligible for credentialing and privileging with Medicaid, Medicare and other third‑party payers Strong clinical judgement and ability to work independently within a collaborative care model Preferred Qualifications Experience in an FQHC, community health center, or safety‑net setting Experience working with underserved, uninsured, or Medicaid populations Familiarity with integrated primary care and behavioral health models Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management Understanding of HRSA/FQHC requirements and quality improvement principles Ability to provide patient‑centered, culturally responsive care Strong communication and collaboration skills Proficiency with electronic health records Physical and Work Environment Primarily clinical office environment Ability to sit, stand and use a computer for extended periods May require limited travel between clinic sites Ability to work under pressure with a diverse population including staff, physicians, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public on a regular basis May cause frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate #J-18808-Ljbffr Bobit Business Media
