Facilities Manager
KyCAD
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Facilities Manager will work closely with all Kentucky College of Art + Design (KyCAD) faculty, staff, and students. The heart of this job involves working as part of a larger team to provide support to all facilities at KyCAD to help ensure effective and efficient practices throughout the organization. The major functions of this position are of facilities and administrative capacities. Responsibilities Coordinate, organize, approve, and manage the routine maintenance, repair, remodel, minor renovations, and minor construction in the facilities; sometimes directly supervise or provide performance of emergency and routine maintenance on these facilities. Provide comprehensive technical project leadership, planning, coordination, and management oversight of maintenance, repair, remodel, and minor renovation projects. Communicate project status to stakeholders as necessary and problem‑solve various facility matters as they arise. Oversee company issues and ensure that problems are resolved, followed up with KyCAD community and external vendors on service calls and maintenance requests to ensure timely response to repairs and requests. Support the KyCAD safety committee and work directly with the CFO as needed to write facilities procedures and implement Health & Safety procedures on campus. Prepare a multi‑year deferred maintenance plan and project plans; anticipate requirements for exceptional maintenance efforts, develop contingency plans, remain available for on‑call support for emergency responses, and assist with efforts to restore the environment to normalcy; reduce the likelihood of a disruption of services (i.e., heating, internet‑Wi‑Fi, water, cooling, electricity) and assure around‑the‑clock responsiveness to failures or emergency situations. Ensure that all service providers are given appropriate direction, leadership, guidance, and support, and that the work performance of service providers meets Corporate and College standards and expectations, including spot‑checking work in the field to evaluate quality. Assist with the development and documentation of minor renovations and construction; serve as project manager for these projects. Serve as department liaison with other offices that provide direct facility services related to academics, student services, studio shops, metal, wood, and foundry shops, through clear communication and a collaborative work approach. Embrace and enhance the college's culture to help ensure continued engagement, motivation, and drive. All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 3 years' experience in general building maintenance, basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry or paint trades. Technical training and experience providing logistical support, repair or maintenance, and work order process experience. Familiarity with safety programs and OSHA guidelines. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to lift 30 lbs (approx.) and must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule; evening and weekend work may be required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree (Project Management, preferred). Experience working in an Art College or University.
