We're leading this search on behalf of our client, an independent wealth management firm in Western Minnesota. Two people, about $200 million under management, 225 active clients across a farming community and the Twin Cities metro. Twenty-six years serving the same families, most of them people you'll see around town. Every call and every person who comes through the door reaches this seat first. No degree required, and no license required to start. The firm is open on background — you might come from the industry, or from a job where you've already shown up reliably and know how to take care of people. Someone from a hospital or a busy front desk, who's handled worried people and careful paperwork, would fit right in. Come in wanting to be good at this, and they'll back wherever you take it from there. Why it's worth a look You're the first person every client meets. The firm has spent twenty-six years earning the trust of families in a community of about 7,000 people, and out here relationships get built face-to-face, not over Zoom. You're the one who answers the phone, gets the meeting scheduled, has the paperwork ready, and follows up after — the steady hand that keeps client life running while the advisor and operations manager stay focused on their own lanes. They can teach you the rest. The firm was clear about this. Redtail, Office 365, the workflows, the difference between a new account and a transfer — all of that is learnable, and they'll teach it. What they can't teach is being reliable, being easy to talk to, and being careful enough to follow a process without skipping a step. If you have that, they want to hear from you, whether or not you've worked in financial services and whether or not you finished college. They take the work seriously and get it done. Two people who've built something real and run it lean. It's low-key but intense when it needs to be — February through April and again in the fall are all-in, and the quieter stretches are for cleanup, training, and catching your breath. Everyone owns their own workflows and is trusted to run them without anyone checking behind them. They want someone who takes that ownership, tells them straight when something's stuck or has changed, and is honest about their time — that last one matters more here than anything. They'll pay to get you wherever you want to go. If you want to get licensed, take a course, or earn a certification down the road, the firm covers it. Some people will want to grow toward an associate or advisory role and some will want to be excellent at this job for a long time, and the firm is glad to have either. They mainly want you to think about it and tell them which way you're leaning. $25 an hour, plus a quarterly revenue-sharing bonus (roughly $5,000–$6,000 a year), plus a 401(k) with a 5% match and $50,000 in life insurance.
