Job Summary:
Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse opportunity available in a facility located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves providing care for adult patients in a high-volume, Level III Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke program and Magnet designation. The position requires experience in neuro IR procedures such as strokes, embolizations, and advanced vascular interventions, and involves working in a fast-paced environment supporting a variety of complex cases around the clock.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), one year of clinical experience in Interventional Radiology or related field, and experience with adult patient care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IR procedures such as kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, neuro IR for stroke and embolization, and familiarity with Siemens and GE imaging equipment.
• Support on the Unit: Receptionist/HUC (two coordinators), two lead technicians, two technicians per exam room, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and transport staff available 24/7.
• Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record system (preferred), IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Change Healthcare PACS, Siemens and GE imaging equipment (preferred), MedRad injector, ultrasound, laser, Bovie, AngioJet.
• Orientation: Will include 1-2 weeks with a preceptor and competency check-off.
• Scheduling & Call: Weekday call (Monday-Thursday) once a week, until 0700 the following day; weekend call (Friday-Sunday) every 5th or 6th weekend, with response time of 30 minutes.
• Shift Times: General IR shifts from 0700-1530; neuro IR shifts from 0730-1600; flexibility to modify shift durations and cycles.
• Other Notes: Must have IR and neuro IR experience for complex cases such as bleeds, TIPS, Y-90, carotid stenting, and strokes. Scrub color is provided; free parking available with badge access. No holidays are currently scheduled. RTO approval of up to 7 days is possible.
