Line Cook

Gunny’s is building a community-focused, hospitality-driven neighborhood restaurant and bar where guests and team members feel genuinely welcomed, respected, and taken care of.  

We are currently accepting resumes and applications for line cook and kitchen manager positions as we prepare to open in early to mid-September. We are looking for dependable, team-oriented kitchen staff who care about quality, consistency, cleanliness, communication, and being part of a strong opening team.  

Line Cook 

Purpose:

Line cooks working alongside kitchen management are to execute food preparations and presentations as determined by the Executive Chef. The primary role of a line cooks is to practice all safe food-handling methods, prepare food with accuracy and consistency, adapt to guest modifications and allergy concerns, and work quickly and efficiently with intent in order to meet service expectations.  

Essential Job functions:

Food:  

Set up, execute, check and maintain menu items on stations as determined by the BOH management team before the beginning of service.  

Communicate needs with BOH Management about any needs in order to execute service on your respective station  

Follow proper FIFO for products on station to limit waste and maintain quality.  

Preform cooking techniques specific to your station according to BOH managements expectations  

Operate food preparation equipment such as fryers, broilers, stoves, ovens, meat slicers, mixers, flat-top grills ect.  

Health, Sanitation, and Safety:  

Maintain a clean work space and environment  

Cleaning cooler, stations, equipment as outlined by BOH management, to up hold standards and a tidy space  

Contribute to the general cleanliness of the kitchen, and equipment.  

Ensure proper labeling, and storage of food and prepared items.  

Observe good sanitation and safety practices  

Maintain and clean equipment according to standards set by BOH management team.  

Employee Relations:

Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with all other team members through a positive and team-driven work effort.  

Communicate clearly and professionally with other employees to help maintain a professional environment  

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, vendors, and guests.  

Other Requirements:   

Arrive as scheduled for all shifts, ready and prepared to work  

Maintain proper hygiene and appropriate work attire as outlined by leadership  

Check out with BOH management at the end of each shift to ensure all daily tasks are completed and communicate and needs to the following day or shift.  

Proper communication of sick time, and PTO
