Part-Time DHH Teacher – San Diego, CA

Platinum Therapy is seeking a qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to provide specialized support to one student at a TK-8 charter school in San Diego, CA.

Position Details

• Position: DHH Teacher

• Location: San Diego, CA

• Setting: In person

• Schedule: Part time

• Hours: Approximately 4 hours per month

• Population: TK-8 charter school

• Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Provide DHH services and educational support to one third-grade student

• Address the student's individual communication and educational needs

• Collaborate with school staff and the student's educational team

• Provide consultation and recommendations regarding accommodations and classroom access

• Support implementation of appropriate strategies and services

• Document services provided as required

Qualifications

• Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) authorization, or other California credential/permit that authorizes DHH services

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution

• Experience working with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students preferred

• Knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, communication access, and school-based special education practices

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

• ASL proficiency or experience with other communication modalities is a plus
