Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years - Prefer prior neuro experience - Prefer Alaris and EPIC experience Description: Travelers are expected to float throughout the zone they are hired into. Each zone covers a 60-mile radius from the city center. Travelers are responsible for obtaining housing within this 60-mile radius. Week of orientation requires clinicians to be in state, even if first-day modules are remote. No home base facility provided. All travelers can float within the designated zone. Unit includes various specialties such as Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs. Nurse-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6 based on acuity. Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment unless necessary, especially on night shifts. There are nurse aides available within the unit. Registered Nurses will be responsible for reading strips on telemetry. Schedules are made by leadership for 6 weeks and travelers are expected to be flexible. 6-9 weekend shifts are required within a 6-week schedule. Holiday rotation may be required. Units are assigned via scheduling communication, which may vary by week. Travelers may float into other acuity levels such as ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele. The cancellation policy allows for cancellation of up to 4 shifts within the 13-week assignment. Charting system utilized is EPIC. BSN is not required for this position. This role is in an acute care setting.
