Work Environment This is an onsite role based in our Richmond, VA rehabilitation facility, providing you with the opportunity to interact closely with patients and your healthcare team. The work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, allowing you a consistent routine while offering ample time to dedicate to patient care and professional development. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments to identify patient needs and goals, recognizing the unique circumstances of each individual. Manage a patient load of one individual per hour, ensuring personalized and focused attention during each session. Design and implement tailored treatment plans that incorporate various rehabilitation techniques and therapeutic exercises. Utilize manual therapy skills and other evidence-based interventions to optimize patient recovery, while minimizing reliance on medications. Motivate and educate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a supportive environment that promotes healing. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare specialists, to coordinate comprehensive care. Monitor progress and evaluate treatment effectiveness, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of treatment sessions and patient progress using our EMR software, such as WebPT. Patient Population / Client Focus Your role will focus primarily on individuals with private medical insurance, many of whom face challenges in regaining mobility and improving their quality of life following musculoskeletal injuries or surgeries. Our patient demographic is varied, including athletes, active professionals, and individuals seeking recovery from chronic pain, all necessitating personalized care and attention. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is required for this position. Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia is mandatory, with proof of no board actions or disciplinary actions against your license. Strong manual therapy skills and proficiency in developing effective exercise routines tailored to individual patient needs. Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly WebPT, is essential for efficient patient documentation and communication. Preferred Experience Previous experience in orthopedic outpatient care is highly desirable, showcasing your ability to effectively assess and treat a diverse patient population. Ability to utilize evidence-based practices and stay current with the latest developments in physical therapy.
